Members Consulting

Public and Membership Consulting

The MD Referral Program is a consulting program which focuses on creating a clinical and teaching based chiropractic practice that highlights your clinical expertise as a portal of entry for spine care. It is the combination of clinical excellence with patients and using published chiropractic evidence to teach the medical community how to USE CHIROPRACTIC. A combined Academic and Clinical approach has been extremely effective in building larger referral networks from the primary care and specialty medical communities into chiropractic offices. I build and maintain my practice referrals using this method as well, and I invite you to come along with me as we educate the medical community on how to identify and refer chiropractic patients.

#1 Program and Office Infrastructure
This is the place to start. Click on this section to get started. Much of what you will learn in this area will help you both in the marketing and business side of your practice. Getting staff buy in and setting a foundation for the concepts you will learn along the way.

#2 CV & Credentials
Your Curriculum Vitae is your professional “story” and outlines your credentials. Post-Graduate training is a critical component of your marketability and without this document you are a single grain in a sea of sand. Learn why the CV is important and why spending your Continuing Education dollars in the right place can fill your office with MD referrals for the life of your practice.

#3 EMR, Macros and Reporting to the Medical Community
There is a lot of information on EMR [Electronic Medical Record]/ EHR [Electronic Health Record] out there. To be part of the healthcare system, you will need to have one. Everyone will have to use one by 2015 or face Medicare penalties. That is important, but one of the most important aspects of the EMR/EHR is creating a reporting system in your practice that is efficient, compliant and profitable. These consults are how to use and your EMR/EMR to reach those goals

#4 MD Meetings - Primary Care Physicians
Meeting and interacting with Primary Care Physicians is different than Specialty Care. These Consultations are about how to position yourself to be the #1 choice for conservative spine care.

#5 MD Meetings - Medical Specialist
Meeting and interacting with Specialty Medical Care providers is different than the Primary Care/Family Medicine Community. These Consultations are about working with the Medical Specialist.

#6 NP Meetings - Working with Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Practitioner Associations
Nurse Practitioners (NP) are gaining more and more power in the new healthcare system, they are a wonderful source of referrals. They are very open to interprofessional treatment and are often the main contact point for spine patients in primary care offices. Their professional organizations are always open to guest speakers, so let me help you get invited!

#7 Marketing, Branding and Entrepreneurship
Creating a brand for yourself and getting the message out in a professional and consistent basis is a key component to long term success. Remember it is not only about YOU and YOUR image but also your staff, your office and your message. This section will help you to learn from my trial and error. Learn more here...

The Following section contains CE Credits and 6 FREE PACE credits per year are included in the program

#8 Chiropractic Research for the Primary Care Physician
The Educational Materials section will contain the research you need for the primary care physician, but this section will teach you how to use it. Specific Research Flyers will be outlined and talking points will be provided. You will need to explain these concepts simply and in sound bites, time in front of other providers is usually limited.

#9 Chiropractic Research for the Medical Specialist
The Educational Materials section will contain the research you need to share with the specialty physician, but this section will teach you how to use it. Specific Research Flyers will be outlined and talking points will be provided. You will need to explain these concepts simply and in sound bites, time in front of other providers is usually limited.

#10 Evidence Based Documentation, Coding and Compliance - ICD-10

#11 Clinical Information, Diagnosing, MRI
These Consultations are about being a better clinician. They contain information on MRI, Advanced Imaging and physical examination. There are many occasions that I will do a GoTo Meeting Session with a doctor to review MRI. Learn more about all these things in this section, the best way to accelerate your training is to “learn as you go”.

#12 Spinal Biomechanics
Understanding and being able to explain spinal biomechanics to the medical community is one of the easiest ways to get the MD community to refer to you. This section will show you how to analyze difficult cases and give you the foundation to have short conversations that translate into referrals!

Our Doctors Successes!

Ohio 2013:

I now get 2 cases every day from the medical community in my area. My ability to consistently educate the medical providers in my area is been a key component to my success.

Michigan 2015:

The lunch CEs have been awesome and very well received! The primary care doctors that I have presented to want to follow me and hear me speak again they were so impressed. Talk about dynamic change! We have a few more set up already for next month, and the docs have been pretty receptive because of the CME credits. This is going to lay the foundation for many more referral relationships! This is going to change how medical doctors perceive chiropractors! I am using these lunch CEs to build a following for your big 8 hour CE in March! These guys are really hungry to learn something different...

New York 2014:

I received 17 new patient referrals in 5 days!

Florida 2014:

“Regarding the Ortho I told you about that sent me the letter, instead of flying off the handle like I would have done before your program, I talked with him after a Network meeting we both attended for over an hour. I just got off the phone with him and plan to send him 2 more patients who really need his help beyond what I have been doing. The last patient I sent him was lost due to a neurosurgeon he had referred to. I told him I couldn’t be sending patients to him if the neurosurgeon he referred to was telling my patients NOT to see a Chiropractor. He agreed, told me of 2 new Neuro’s he is going to meet soon, and invited me to go with him to the meeting! Sounds like a success brewing here!”
